The Players Theatre

New York, NY-July 11, 2010--The Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, New York's premiere eco-friendly/socially-conscious theatre festival, invites you to celebrate the great talents and achievements of our amazing 2010 artists! You are invited to attend The Planet Connections Awards Ceremony, Sunday, August 1st at 7:00pm at The Players Theatre (115 MacDougal Street—A, C, E, B, D, F, V to West 4th Street ). Doors open at 6:30pm. The awards will be hosted by Executive Director, Glory Kadigan, and emceed by Assistant Associate Director of the festivity, Nathaniel Kent.  Performances will include Ryan Knowles of Dig and Be Dug, Andrew Martin of Green!,  Andrew Redlawsk, Tro Shaw and Tramaine Montell Ford from BJ: A Musical Romp, Jenna Pasqua from Tess, A Rock Opera, Bellavia Mauro from Revolution! and from last year's Festivity winner for Outstanding Lead Actress in a musical Melissa Labbadia of Cleopatra - A Life Unparalleled and Justin Utley winner of Best Musical, Our Country.

This year’s festivity took place June 3 - June 29, 2010 at The Robert Moss Theater (440 Lafayette Street), The Gene Frankel Theatre (24 Bond Street) and Theatres at 45 Bleecker Street (Bleecker Street Theatre and Green Room Theatre). For ticket sales for the awards ceremony, please click here.

AWARDS VOTING PROCESS:
ANY STAFF MEMBER OF THE FESTIVITY (this includes Box Office Staff, Concessions workers, Managing Director, Tech. Director, etc.) CAN VOTE. The voters are ranked by how many productions they’ve seen. They are then allotted points based on their ranking. The nominees will be announced in July via the contact email on file for your show. Some voters are also participants in the Festivity. These voters will not be allowed to vote in their own categories. For example, if a voter is working on one of the musicals in the Festivity, they will not be allowed to vote in any of the musical categories or in any category that their show would be eligible in. The list of nominees will be emailed to the voters after they are tallied. Voters will select from that list. Awards may end in a tie. This happens with the number of points a nominees are less than 1% apart. The winners will be announced at our Awards Gala on August 1st! Even if your production doesn’t get nominated, we do hope you’ll attend the final party and celebrate the work of your fellow artists in this great community!

"We are so proud of the continued fabulous work done by our festivity participants.  I am inspired daily by the collaboration of our fine artists with these local charities, all while maintaining a commitment to the environment.  It is my pleasure to celebrate them in this manner.”—Glory Kadigan, Executive Director
