Five women share dozens of love stories that are sometimes poignant, sometimes hilarious, and always deeply personal.

SHARE stands for the “Society for Hospital and Resources Exchange”. It is a not-for-profit organization consisting of doctors, nurses, paramedics, business, and lay people who volunteer their time to work together toward a common goal to help children and communities in Kenya, Africa.

SHARE was founded in 1987 by Dr. Martha M. MacGuffie, a plastic and reconstructive surgeon, and Dr. Renée M. Brilliant, a pediatric hematologist. It is based in New City, New York with an affiliate in Kisumu, Kenya, Africa.

The mission of SHARE is to:

  • foster and promote health care education, research, advances in the health field, and the growth and availability of quality healthcare services
  • coordinate and support activities of not-for-profit organizations engaged in the betterment of mankind
  • promote and advance relationships between healthcare institutions, health care providers and the communities they serve.

The organization carries on its mission through numerous short and long term projects in both Kenya and the United States.
